CASA EMILIANA

The Town-House Retreat

is the perfect retreat for visitors from Europe and North America

We only began offering CASA EMILIANA, beginning in April 2025.

Since then, we have had different short and longer term bookings from many nationalities.

It is always our pleasure to meet all of our guests, and make them feel as though they are staying at a

Home-Away-From-Home.

The following are Guest Reviews from some of the people who have booked directly with us, taking individual rooms or the entire Town-House

and have been our guests for a few days or up to several weeks

THANK YOU !

Incredible Spain vacation: Had a wonderful stay at Casa Emiliana.

Marina and Jeff were amazing hosts and could not be more accommodating.  The home is beautiful and we found it to be equipped with everything we needed.

We used the home as a base as we traversed the Andalusia region.  The pool table was a fun addition, and the home is filled with books to enjoy during down time.  As the weather in January can be cool, Jeff left us a prepared wood burning fireplace to come home to after a long day exploring.

We will definitely be back.  Gracias Marina and Jeff.

November, 2025

We had the opportunity to stay at Casa Emiliana for a weekend in November and it was truly incredible.

The house itself is magnificent – beautifully designed with stunning African and Kenyan artefacts, and the communal spaces are warm, cosy and perfect for evenings of games and conversation.

Jeff and Marina are exceptional hosts.  They welcomed us so warmly, shared brilliant recommendations, and both restaurants they suggested were absolutely outstanding, especially if you´re a foodie ! They also invited us to join them for a walk around Gaucin and an open mic evening, which was such a special experience.  If you happen to visit on one of those weekends, consider yourself very lucky. I also bought a Spanish wrap from Lanas del Rio, and Marina even kindly arranged for the shop to open on a Sunday.  We learned so much about their materials and process that was so cool !

The views from the top floor are breathtaking.  From Gibraltar and the Straits to the sweeping beauty of southern Spain, we were treated to the most magical cloud formations too.

We´ll absolutely be returning to Casa Emiliana in the new year.  I have a feeling we´ll become regulars.  We would recommend to anyone who loves artistic, creative spaces, cosy weekends away, and perfectly finished details in a truly special party of Spain.  Thank you Marina and Jeff

We recently stayed at a wonderful Town-House in the small village of Gaucin, one of the many "pueblos blancos," or whitewashed villages, in the province of Malaga in Andalusia.

Casa Emiliana has been said to have the best views in town, and they are spectacular!

From the two large bedrooms with balconies you can see as far as the Rock of Gibraltar and Morocco.

The rooms and common areas are lovely, particularly the common terrace on the upper floor, which is incredible.

The hosts, Marina and Jeffrey, are so hospitable and helpful.   https://www.gaucinemiliana.com/

If you are considering spending some time exploring this area of the country, Gaucin is an excellent base. It is a charming village with restaurants ranging from casual to special occasion, as well as shops to buy supplies if you are planning on cooking at home (the Town-House features a very well stocked modern kitchen).

We rented a car and bopped around to different villages for 6 days. We always enjoyed returning to our lovely and peaceful home base.

Marina and Jeff provided excellent tips on which villages to check out as well as local hikes and walks to enjoy from the village itself. I am happy to answer any questions you might have about the Town-House or the White Villages area.

Onze review:

We enjoyed our stay in Gaucin at Casa Emiliana every moment we were there.

A lovely place to be, everything you want is at hand.

A spacious private bedroom, with fine bathroom, and a good bed.

Above, a large living room with pool table, kitchen and terrace to be shared with other guests.

Stunning views from the terrace: up to the mountains of Maroc opposite of Gibraltar's.

Last but not least: a very nice hostess Marina and host Geoffrey, who prepared our fireplace every night. Thanks!

We will come again.

Vriendelijke groet,

SPAIN

August, 2025

I stayed in Casa Emiliana for 10 days with my family and our dog.

We rented the entire house, so we had all the common spaces to ourselves.

From the moment we arrived, Marina and her husband were incredibly welcoming. They even offered us some delicious passion fruit from their garden. On our last morning, she made us homemade pancakes for breakfast.

The house is beautifully decorated, with every detail carefully thought out. The photos on the website don’t do it justice. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, everything was very clean, and the kitchen was fully equipped. The views from the terrace and the bedrooms are spectacular, you can see the sea, the Rock of Gibraltar, and even Africa.

The location is perfect, right in the center of the village, making it easy to walk to the supermarket and local restaurants. Gaucín itself is stunning and only about 40 minutes from the beach.

We were able to completely disconnect and relax during our stay. If you’re traveling to Málaga, I recommend Casa Emilia, for Marina and her husband’s warm hospitality, the beautiful house, and the charm of Gaucín

From the minute you walk through the door you can be assured of a warm welcome from Jeff & Marina.

Great care and taste has obviously been taken to decorate and furnish the rooms and living areas.

The bed was very comfortable and we loved the bathroom.

Sitting on the spacious balcony is wonderful with incredible views.

Its kitchen is very well appointed with everything you can think of and a handy welcome pack in the fridge.

We loved the Pueblo Blanco of Gaucin.  Great places to eat and drink with interesting streets and an impressive castle to explore walking from Casa Emiliana.
